Volkswagen has been around for a long time, but it still has the capacity to impress. In March, VW delivered a whopping 1.04 million vehicles around the globe, setting a new record for the month and driving a new all-time best for first-quarter sales.
“The first-quarter results confirm the attractiveness of our products,” said Fred Kappler, Head of Group Sales at Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft. “However, this good performance does not mean we can let up in our efforts; instead we must continue to strengthen customers’ trust in our brands and products in the second quarter as well.”
In all, Volkswagen delivered 1,043,400 vehicles in March, including sales of 57,800 vehicles in the United States. This gave VW a Q1 total of 2,679,800 global sales, up 7.4 percent from 2017. Through the first quarter, VW put up 10 percent growth in the United States at a total 148,900 vehicles delivered across all brands.
VW’s roll has only continued in the second quarter. Sales in the United States remain strong, thanks in no small part to the launch of the new and improved 2019 VW Jetta. The Jetta is available to test drive at Gossett VW Germantown, as are other exciting Volkswagens like the Atlas, Golf, and Beetle.
